The funny thing is, that we have Juliet's mother, Mercutio, Romeo and Tybalt from the Hungarian R+J in the Hungarian version of Elisabeth

The cast is fine, but I don't really think Elisabeth is too good at playing young Elisabeth. Well, she's an adult, I know, but it can be done better. Maya Hakvoort, for example, did a great job at playing young Elisabeth. And I just have to mention Death's laugh at Sisi and Franz Joseph's wedding was the best I have ever heard. So crazy and scary!

Yeah, actually I agree with you. Although I do love the actress who plays Elisabeth, it's not her role.
Have you got to The Malady scene yet? If you're going to enjoy crazy death that is the epitome!

Okay, I have now watched the whole thing, and I am not so sure what to think. It had some good things, especially Szilveszter P. Szabo as Death. But I am not so sure about the rest of the cast, even though they were okay. I have to mention Sophie, who just lacks the almos military authority of Else Ludwig. The show seemed to lack the quality of the vienna production even though it was okay. Or is it just me who just don't like reproductions?

I still have to think of it as a quite separate performance because they have done it differently. I'm lucky in that, although I watched the 2005 Vienna performance first, I watched this version quite early on in my Elisabeth life time so wasn't comparing to the 2005 quite as much as I would if I watched it for the first time now.
While we're here: I want to be this girl! Lucky thing.
Watch from about 3:40. You'll be interested to see who's hosting too!

I think the Hungarian ending is more romantic than the German ending. In the Hungarian version, Death and Sisi walks away together in a typical "hero and heroine walk into the sunset, living happy ever after"-ending.
