I personally have only seen the movie, but I love it. I cried. A lot. It was so much more touching then I ever thought and it was...magical. Fabulous. Ah, I can't stop talking about it, I only watched it last night.

I have seen both the movie and the DVD recording of the last performance, which actually has the same Joanne as the movie. I personally prefer the movie, in which the score just sounds better. But there are some really great parts of the show, which are not in the movie, sadly.

Although, the cow song is a little... 0____o ish... That's always been the one part of the movie I skip when I watch the movie. It's not really my thing. But I can watch Tango Maureen over and over again Mainly because Mark is so adorkable and Joanne is awesome!

I love the Phantom version! I actually wrote a version for The Tudors with Anne Boleyn's sister-in-law Jane and a muscician who had an affaire with Jane's husband.

I've seen the DVD (a ton of times) and took my best friend to see the show for her birthday (she is a serious Rent Head). Both are awesome, but I think I prefer the movie.
This might be because our seats were awful and at least with the film you can see everything clearly...

Saw the film for the first time recently although I've had some of the soundtrack on my ipod for years. I loved it, it's so sad but really good. One funny thing that happened though, when they are singing the song "rent", i thought they were singing "we're not going to pay matthew's rent" instead of "last year's rent" and I was quite confused as to the identity of this Matthew.
