Yeah there are quite a few, including with Jonathan and the vampire brides (that's what people call them anyways), with Lucy and Dracula and with Mina and Dracula. But I did only read it once.
And yes, it is pretty conservative as far as gender roles go, although it seems to challenge that at the same time, since Mina is torn between doing what she's good at and being an obedient wife.

In my mind Mina isn't in any struggle. She's never in doubt about doing what's right, and she's ideal woman in Stoker's mind. Perhaps you could tell me where you think she's in doubt? I don't really see that?

Oh what I meant is that Mina wants to help the men fight Dracula, but her husband and the men don't want her to be involved. So she obeys, but inside she wants to help them.
And yes, I agree that she is supposed to be the model of an ideal woman.

I forgot to say I just remember, I am referring to specifically the scene where she was at first sort of their secretary, but then they said its better if she does not get involved at all, and she said something like, I can't remember exactly, that she wishes she could help but she trusts their judgement cause she thinks they no best. But the whole time she is anxious for them, especially and obviously for her husband Jonathan.

Right, I see what you mean. She wanted to help, but they wouldn't let her, because it's dangerous.

So, have anyone read the sequel? Or have I scared everybody so nobody wants to read it?

I haven't read the sequel... I need to re-read Dracula.
I might see if I can get it from the library if it's not going to be the kind of book that you want to read again!
