I am almost through it now. I just got to the part where Maxim is about to reveal the truth about Rebecca. I quite like it, though it has some quite, for the narrator, embarresing moments. And it's easy to read as well, and I never really felt I wanted to stop because the writing ever got boring or just hard to get through. And I would like to comment on the similarities between Rebecca and Jane Eyre. The two stories have many of the same elements, which I find funny, though I don't really think it was intended by the writer.

I've read the book. Found it enjoyable, albeit really suspenseful. Wasn't at all what I was expecting it to be.
A lot of people have pointed out the similarities between Rebecca and Jane Eyre. Perhaps du Maurier was unconsciously influenced by Jane Eyre? That or it is simply a matter of coincidence, due purely to the fact that plot elements in Jane Eyre have become so common in literature.

I finally got the unabridged copy! I had real difficulties finding it!
I enjoy the style but I'm finding it hard to read because I have the english demo of the musical and some of the lines in the english demo are almost the same but not quite as in the book. I'm finding that really off putting >,< I do think it's ever so well written though and am enjoying it!

Just finished it a few days ago. One of the best books I've ever read, in my opinion. Can't wait till you sub the musical!!
